GAP

Paul Gardiner and  Andrew Penhallow formed Gap Records in 1980. Founded chiefly as an independent label signing local artists as well as licensing (among others) and manufacturing Factory Records releases for Australia. In 1982 the two year contract with distributor EMI Australia expired and changed to CBS Records Australia. In 1985 Penhallow merged the company into a new partnership with Factory, becoming Factory Records Australasia.
